Colts lose top WR Pittman to concussion after headshot from Steelers' Kazee
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. was ruled out of Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers after leaving with a concussion.
Pittman remained on the ground for some time after taking a devastating hit from Steelers defensive back Damontae Kazee, who was given a personal foul for unnecessary roughness and ejected from the game.
Indianapolis is dealing with injuries to multiple starters. Running back Zack Moss, who was anchoring the backfield with Jonathan Taylor absent, was ruled out after suffering an arm injury in the first half. He totaled 33 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown before leaving the game.
Pittman was attempting to make a diving catch on a pass from Gardner Minshew. The 26-year-old was able to walk off the field under his own power after being attended to by medical personnel. He then made his way to the locker room for further evaluation.
The Colts' leading pass-catcher made four receptions for 78 yards before leaving the game. D.J. Montgomery, Alec Pierce, and Josh Downs are likely to see more targets as long as Pittman remains sidelined.
