Saints' Lattimore hitting IR with ankle injury
The New Orleans Saints are placing star cornerback Marshon Lattimore on IR due to an ankle injury, the team announced Saturday.
The 27-year-old suffered the injury in the team's Week 10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Despite having an entire bye week to heal, Lattimore did not practice all week and was already ruled out for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
A four-time Pro Bowler, Lattimore has recorded one interception this season, marking his seventh consecutive year with a pick.
New Orleans will also elevate veteran pass-rusher Jason Pierre-Paul from the practice squad for Sunday's meeting. Pierre-Paul signed with the Saints earlier this month but has not yet made his Saints debut for the team.
The Saints lead the NFC South with an even 5-5 record.
