49ers' Samuel to return vs. Jaguars after 2-game absence
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel has no injury designation ahead of Week 10 and will face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, according to ESPN's Nick Wagoner.
Samuel missed San Francisco's last two games due to a shoulder injury. The 27-year-old, however, was a full participant at practice this week.
The star wideout's return is a big boost to a 49ers offense that's struggled amid a three-game losing streak. San Francisco scored only 17 points in each of those losses before going on bye in Week 9. The club also struggled to take care of the ball, suffering seven turnovers in that span.
Samuel, a first-team All-Pro in 2021, has caught 20 passes for 302 yards and one touchdown in six appearances this season. He's also added 95 yards (5.3 per carry) and one score on the ground.
In addition to Samuel, San Francisco's star-studded offensive unit features Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, and Brandon Aiyuk, among others.
The 49ers also ruled left tackle Trent Williams and defensive lineman Javon Hargrave as questionable for the Jaguars matchup. Williams is battling an ankle injury, while Hargrave is dealing with a knee ailment, according to Wagoner.
