The New England Patriots have lost their leading receiver for the remainder of the season.
Veteran wideout Kendrick Bourne suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports.
The Patriots initially hoped Bourne suffered only a torn MCL prior to his MRI, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Bourne couldn't finish Sunday's game but ended the contest with three catches for 36 yards and a touchdown.
The 28-year-old leads New England in receptions (37), receiving yards (406), and touchdowns (four).
Bourne's scheduled to be a free agent next offseason.
