The Philadelphia Eagles ruled out second-year quarterback Jalen Hurts minutes prior to their preseason loss Thursday against the New England Patriots due to an illness.
Head coach Nick Sirianni explained postgame that the signal-caller was experiencing pain in his abdomen. Hurts wasn't feeling well upon his arrival at the stadium and went to the hospital to rule out any serious issues.
"He's fine now, he's doing OK now," Sirianni said.
Hurts was ultimately diagnosed with a stomach infection and was told to stay home for at least two days, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Eagles, who were booed on their way to the locker room at halftime, lost 35-0 to the Patriots in their second preseason appearance this year.
