Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf showed off his blazing speed on Sunday at the 2021 USATF Golden Games and Distance Open, running the 100m in 10.37 seconds.

Though Metcalf placed last in the nine-man race, the 6-foot-4, 229-pound pass-catcher held his own among some of the world's top professional sprinters. Cravon Gillespie was the first to cross the finish line, posting a time of 10.11 seconds.

"To test my speed against world-class athletes like this ... it's just a blessing," Metcalf said after the race. "These are world-class athletes. It's very different from football speed, as I just realized."

Metcalf's final time ranked 15th out of 17 runners in the event. American sprinter Isiah Young was the fastest competitor of the day, running the 100m in 10.09 seconds.

The minimum time to qualify for the Olympic Trials is 10.20 seconds, according to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.
