Report: Vikings' Gladney charged with assault

Minnesota Vikings cornerback Jeff Gladney turned himself in to Dallas County police and posted a $10,000 bond on a charge of third-degree family violence assault, J.D. Miles of the CBS 11 News reports.
The arrest stems from an incident that took place on April 2.
Gladney is accused of hitting a 22-year-old woman with closed fists, choking her, and dragging her by the hair while driving with her outside the vehicle, Miles reports.
The woman reportedly told police the argument stemmed from text messages she received. Police issued a warrant after Gladney fled the scene prior to local officers' arrival, Dallas Police Department sergeant Warren Mitchell said, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin.
The 24-year-old could face two to 10 years in prison if convicted.
"We are aware of Jeff’s arrest and are gathering additional information," the Vikings said in a statement on Monday. "We take this matter very seriously, as the reported allegations are extremely disturbing. At this time we will have no further comment."
Gladney finished his first NFL season in January after being selected by Minnesota in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
