Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey will undergo an MRI after injuring his ankle in Sunday's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
The Panthers hope the injury isn't serious, according to Rapoport.
McCaffrey was forced out of the game in the fourth quarter. He was seen on the sideline getting his right ankle taped following his second touchdown of the contest.
The All-Pro back racked up 59 yards and two scores on 18 carries during Carolina's 31-17 loss to Tampa Bay. He also caught four passes for 29 yards.
Running back Mike Davis took over in the Panthers' backfield during the game's final drives, contributing mostly as a pass-catcher (eight receptions for 74 yards).
