Tom Brady filed merchandise trademark requests for the terms "Tompa Bay" and "Tampa Brady" on April 6, according to ESPN's Jenna Laine.

The new Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback filed to trademark "TB x TB" shortly after signing a two-year contract with the club in March.

The latest submissions to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office came after "Tompa Bay" T-shirts began circulating online.

A St. Petersburg resident applied for the "Tompa Bay" trademark on March 31, while a Phoenix resident filed to trademark "Tompa Bay" on March 18. The person in Phoenix also requested trademarks for "Tompa Bay Beach Club," "Tompa Bay Florida," and "Tompa Bay Buccaneers."

Brady merchandise sales have skyrocketed since Tuesday when the Buccaneers unveiled new uniforms. The six-time Super Bowl champion signed with the Buccaneers following a 20-year run with the New England Patriots.
