San Francisco 49ers linebacker Kwon Alexander was activated from injured reserve and is set to play against the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced Friday.

Alexander was placed on IR after suffering a torn pectoral in Week 9. He recorded 34 tackles, one forced fumble, and one interception in eight games this season.

The 25-year-old signed a four-year, $54-million contract in March. The LSU product was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2015 NFL Draft and made the Pro Bowl once (2017) as a member of the NFC South club.

San Francisco - coming off its best regular season since 2011 - allowed 19.4 points and 281.8 yards per game this season, which ranked eighth and second in the NFL, respectively.
