Report: Saints claim Jenkins off waivers
The New Orleans Saints have claimed former New York Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins off waivers, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Jenkins won't officially join the Saints until Tuesday, though, as the NFC South champions play on Monday Night Football, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
The Giants released the 31-year-old after he tweeted an insult to a fan prior to his team's Week 15 matchup with the Miami Dolphins.
Jenkins has amassed 45 tackles, 14 passes defended, and four interceptions through 13 games this season.
New Orleans adds depth to its defense after already clinching the division title. The Saints have allowed 244.1 passing yards and 22.8 points per contest this season.
Jenkins will join a group of cornerbacks that includes Marshon Lattimore, Eli Apple, P.J. Williams, and Patrick Robinson.
