Report: Chiefs preparing Berry to return Week 15 vs. Chargers

Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry is reportedly preparing to make his season debut Thursday in Week 15 against the Los Angeles Chargers, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Berry, who has been listed throughout the week as questionable with a heel injury, is not expected to play Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, according to Schefter.

The five-time Pro Bowler has been dealing with a heel injury associated with the Achilles tear he suffered in the Chiefs' 2017 season opener.

Berry's return will provide a much-needed boost to a Chiefs secondary that ranks last in the league in passing yards allowed per game (295) and 27th in points allowed per contest (27.2).

In his 2016 season, Berry accumulated 77 combined tackles, four interceptions, and one forced fumble.
