The Jacksonville Jaguars announced the signing of offensive tackle Ereck Flowers on Friday.

Flowers was waived by the New York Giants on Tuesday, ending his tenure with the club that selected him ninth overall in 2015.

Jacksonville's starting left tackle, Cam Robinson, was placed on injured reserved after suffering a torn ACL in Week 2. His replacement, Josh Wells, has also been placed on IR, which could open the door for Flowers to start at left tackle immediately.

New York benched Flowers prior to Week 3 after he struggled mightily during the first two games of the season.

One of the biggest draft busts in recent memory, the towering lineman has disappointed ever since entering the league as a first-round pick. He's accounted for 28 penalties and 18 sacks allowed in his three-plus NFL seasons.
