Diggs, Rhodes benched after incidents at Vikings practice
Two star Minnesota Vikings weren't at practice Wednesday.
Wideout Stefon Diggs and corner Xavier Rhodes were both held out by head coach Mike Zimmer after heated interactions during Tuesday's session.
"They did not make me happy," Zimmer said, according to Courtney Cronin of ESPN. "Just undisciplined stuff."
The source of Zimmer's discontent appeared to be trash talk between the two players after Diggs caught a long touchdown against the All-Pro corner. The teammates were seen jawing at one another, according to Cronin, and Diggs threw the ball into the stands after scoring.
The interactions reportedly continued into Wednesday morning's walkthrough, and Zimmer finally decided to keep both Diggs and Rhodes out of practice.
The Vikings will get to go at someone in a different jersey Saturday when they face the Denver Broncos in their preseason debut.
