Eagles coach Doug Pederson expects Redskins cornerback Josh Norman to shadow Jeffery on Sunday in the season opener, Aaron Kasinitz of The Harrisburg Patriot-News reports.
Analysis:
Pederson pointed out that Norman followed Jeffery around the field when the Redskins and Bears played in Week 16 last season. Jeffery caught five of 10 targets for 92 yards in that contest, but Norman won the day with a pair of interceptions on hideous passes from Matt Barkley. Playing with a much better quarterback in Carson Wentz this time around, Jeffery should only get a slight downgrade for the matchup. Norman is a first-rate playmaker, but he's not quite on the Patrick Peterson or Richard Sherman level when it comes to limiting opponents' receiving production.
