Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson has carved a new role with the Los Angeles Rams.

Dickerson was named vice president of business development after signing a one-day contract to retire as a member of the Rams on Tuesday.

"It's a really good feeling - it really is - to be back with the Rams in an executive position,” Dickerson said via Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. "For me, my thing is I’m all about the fans."

Dickerson starred for the Rams from 1983-1987, setting the single-season rushing yards record with 2,105 in 1984.

The 56-year-old publicly criticized former head coach Jeff Fisher for his ineffectiveness last season. Fisher was fired on December 12, and the Rams hired Sean McVay a month later.
