Report: Patriots' Kraft gives Trump a Super Bowl ring
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft gave President Donald Trump his own Super Bowl LI ring because the team was the first team to make a championship visit to the White House during his tenure, Tom E. Curran of CSN New England reports.
Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci had previously said Kraft gave Trump one of his old Super Bowl rings, but Curran reports that it was a Super Bowl LI ring specifically for the president.
Patriots vice president of media relations Stacey James said Trump hoped to put the ring on display. Kraft, Bill Belichick, and Tom Brady have famously become known as friends of Trump.
Trump hosted the Patriots on their championship visit on April 19 and appeared to have significantly fewer attendees than their previous visit in 2015.
