Report: Tannehill has partially torn ACL, will be out for awhile
As Jay Cutler is reportedly set to join the Miami Dolphins, more clarity on Ryan Tannehill's injury situation has arisen.
Tannehill has a partially torn ACL in his left knee, a similar injury to the one that ended his season last year, the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reports.
As previously reported, the quarterback will either need season-ending surgery or substantial treatment - either way, he'll reportedly be out for awhile.
Tannehill sustained the injury on a non-contact play at Thursday's practice, and it initially seemed like he'd escaped serious injury, as it was reported he hadn't sustained structural damage.
That optimism evaporated quickly, however, and now it seems like the Dolphins will be riding with Cutler for the foreseeable future.
