Cardinals' Johnson believes he can handle 30 touches per game

David Johnson was indefatigable for the Arizona Cardinals in 2016, and isn't planning on slowing down.

Johnson, who earned first-team All-Pro honors, is aiming for 30 touches or more per game in 2017, after head coach Bruce Arians brought up the idea last week.

"I'm still young," Johnson said via the team's official website. "I'm still on my first contract. So I feel I can definitely handle 30 touches. I did it last year, basically, with running the ball and catching it out of the backfield."

Johnson was arguably the NFL's best all-around threat last season, rushing for 1,239 yards and 16 touchdowns on 293 carries while adding 80 receptions for 879 yards and four scores, and the star running back is ready for another Herculean workload entering his third campaign.

"I never really got fatigued," Johnson said. "Those tough defense games against Seattle and the Rams, those games might feel a little sore, but that’s not until the adrenaline comes down. I never really feel too bad."

It appears likely that Johnson will operate as the fulcrum of the Cardinals' offense again - news that will delight fans and fantasy owners across the country.
