Tight end Julius Thomas restructured his contract with the Miami Dolphins to eliminate $12.6 million, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
The move converts Thomas' deal into what is essentially a two-year, $12.2-million pact that includes $7.5 million in guaranteed money.
Thomas signed a five-year, $46-million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2015.
Thomas likely had to accept the pay cut to facilitate the trade from the Jaguars, who would have otherwise cut him.
