Jets' Richardson rips former teammate Marshall: We're better without him

New York Jets defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson isn't exactly obscuring the fact he believes his team is better off without wideout Brandon Marshall.

"Let's just say there are 15 reasons why it's better," Richardson said Tuesday, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

Fifteen is an obvious reference to Marshall's jersey number.

Marshall starred for the Jets from 2015-16, but was released this offseason. He didn't move far, signing with the New York Giants.

Marshall and Richardson had a verbal confrontation after a Jets loss in October, and Richardson said in December that Marshall "should be embarrassed" following another loss.

"He knows what he did," Richardson added, before backtracking on his comments.

It's still unclear what caused the rift between the two veterans.
