As if losing 50-7 to TCU on Saturday wasn't bad enough, Texas cornerback Kris Boyd appeared to retweet a message at halftime that suggested he wanted to transfer from the Longhorns.
On Sunday, Boyd issued an apology through the school and reassured his commitment to the Longhorns' program.
"As I've had time to reflect on my actions, and after personally apologizing to my coaches and teammates, I would like to extend my sincerest apology to all of the Longhorn fans and family and everyone at UT! In NO way did I intend to be disrespectful or disloyal. I deeply regret my actions and want to reassure everyone that I am 100% committed to this team and program. I take pride and honor in being a student-athlete at The University of Texas. I promise everyone that I will learn and grow from this."
Make of it what you will, but Boyd's statement did not mention embattled coach Charlie Strong.
