Report: Oregon's Lanning lands new 6-year deal, pay raise

Oregon head coach Dan Lanning agreed to a new six-year contract that'll raise his annual salary to $11 million, sources told Yahoo Sports' Ross Dellenger.

Lanning's deal still needs to be approved by Oregon's board, according to Dellenger.

The 38-year-old's buyout remains at $20 million if he leaves the program before his deal expires after the 2030 season, per Dellenger.

Lanning reportedly earned a total compensation of $8.2 million last campaign, which slotted fourth among Big Ten coaches behind Lincoln Riley, Ryan Day, and James Franklin.

He's compiled a 35-6 record since the Ducks hired him in December 2021 after serving as Georgia's defensive coordinator. Oregon posted a 13-0 regular-season mark in 2024 before capturing the Big Ten title in its inaugural campaign in the conference. Despite earning the top seed in the College Football Playoff, the Ducks were eliminated from the postseason by Ohio State in the Rose Bowl.
