Texas A&M is finalizing a deal to make Bobby Petrino its next offensive coordinator, sources told ESPN's Chris Low.
Petrino will reportedly depart UNLV less than a month after the Rebels named him their offensive coordinator. He spent the last three seasons at the FCS level as Missouri State's head coach.
The 61-year-old will handle play-calling duties with the Aggies, Low adds.
Petrino led Missouri State to the FCS playoffs in his first two seasons at the helm before the team missed the postseason in his final year. He recorded an 18-15 record with the Bears.
Petrino has also served as head coach of Louisville, Arkansas, and Western Kentucky, amassing a 119-56 record in FBS play.
Arkansas fired him in April 2012 after news broke following a motorcycle crash that he was having an affair with a 25-year-old staffer. Petrino had initially said he was alone on the motorcycle.
Texas A&M finished with a 5-7 record in 2022. The team's points-per-game average fell from 29.3 in their eight-win 2021 campaign to 22.8.
