Former Clemson LB Mike Jones announces transfer to LSU
Former Clemson linebacker Mike Jones Jr. announced his transfer to LSU on Wednesday.
Jones entered the transfer portal in January after his third season with Clemson ended.
He appeared in 10 games for the Tigers last season, starting in seven of those contests. He recorded 30 tackles, two interceptions, and a half-sack. The linebacker took over the nickel/SAM position from Isaiah Simmons, who left for the NFL after the 2019 campaign.
Jones joins a crowded LSU linebacking group and could challenge for a starting position in 2021.
#LSU will return two starters in Damone Clark and Micah Baskerville, while Mike Jones and JUCO transfer Navonteque Strong will certainly push for those starting spots.

Add in a full offseason for freshmen Josh White and Antoine Sampah, and it will be an interesting room https://t.co/B2IMvjlsHt
