The Nebraska Cornhuskers are off to their worst start since 1945.

The Big Ten power suffered a 56-10 beatdown at the hands of Michigan on Saturday to drop to 0-3 on the young season. It's a disappointing start to Scott Frost's tenure as head coach of the football program.

"I told them I honestly believe this is going to be the bottom right here," Frost said. "I don't know how many times I've been in a game like that, but we got beat in every phase. We're really going to find out who loves football and who loves each other."

Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez returned to the team after a one-week absence due to a knee injury but was unable to spark the offense. He completed 7 of 15 passes for 22 yards and an interception.

Michigan held Nebraska to 132 total yards on the afternoon.

"We're not ready to beat a team like this yet, but the key word to me is 'yet,'" Frost said. "I know where it's going. It certainly isn't happening as quickly as I would like, but I'm kind of excited because it's not going to get worse than this. It's only up from here."

Nebraska's next chance at a victory comes next week against Purdue, who upset No. 23-ranked Boston College on Saturday.
