Ohio State announced Wednesday that its players and coaches will donate $10,000 to the Red Cross to assist with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in Texas.

Head coach Urban Meyer said in a release that it was the players' wishes to donate the money, and that the staff will add funds to bring the total to $10,000.

Seven players on the Buckeyes' roster hail from Texas, most notably star quarterback J.T. Barrett.

Ohio State will also be showing its support to Houston during Thursday's game against Indiana, as both teams will wear a "Houston Strong" helmet decal.
