Kentucky athletic director Mitch Barnhart isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
The university extended Barnhart's contract through June 2022, according to Jennifer Smith of the Lexington Herald-Leader.
The new deal will see Barnhart's $730,000 salary increase each year, with him set to earn $925,000 in 2021, plus bonuses.
Barnhart was named Kentucky's athletic director in 2002. He was recently appointed to the men's national basketball selection committee, which is a five-year appointment, and the SEC Network Content Committee.
The 56-year-old was named the 2015 Athletic Director of the Year, and has overseen nearly $300 million in facility renovations, including the $45-million football practice field.
Barnhart previously held the same position at Oregon State from 1998-2002.
