GIF: Michael Beasley tries to eat a basketball in China

Some enterprising television producer could bring us all a great deal of enjoyment by sending a reality television crew to Shanghai.

There, the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association, owned by former NBA star Yao Ming, employ Delonte West and Michael Beasley. If that's not enough of a hook, Beasley is also doing really weird things, as he's wont to do.

For example, here he is trying to eat a basketball during a stoppage in play recently:

In three games with the Sharks, Beasley is averaging a ridiculous 29 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals. While he's not shooting well at 39.2 percent, he is shooting often, firing a field goal attempt every 82 seconds. That counts for something.
