Golden State Warriors big man Kristaps Porzingis is stepping away from basketball to prioritize his health, he announced Friday on social media.

Porzingis has yet to play this season as he continues to deal with symptoms from postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS).

The Warriors had reportedly stopped paying Porzingis his salary, saying he wasn't rendering services.

The big man was set to earn $20 million in the first season of a two-year, $40-million contract extension inked last June.

Porzingis said in his statement that he's willing to work with Golden State to find a solution.

Any team that acquires Porzingis won't be on the hook for his salary.

Warriors forward Draymond Green recently said the team had "moved forward" amid Porzingis' ongoing health issues.

Golden State traded for Porzingis from the Atlanta Hawks at last season's deadline. The 7-foot-2 center averaged 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 blocks in 15 games for the Warriors during the previous campaign.
