Stephen Curry continues to express a desire to end his career with the Golden State Warriors.
"I want to be a lifer with Golden State," Curry told CNBC's Alex Sherman. "What we've built there, the fact that I get to run it back with Draymond (Green) and (head) coach (Steve) Kerr ... my interest and mission is to stay and be competitive. ... The contract stuff will take care of itself."
Last August, Golden State general manager Mike Dunleavy appeared optimistic about Curry's future with the club.
Curry will hit the open market next summer if he can't reach a new deal with the Warriors. The NBA's all-time 3-point leader is eligible for a two-year contract extension worth just under $137 million because of the league's over-38 rule, per The Athletic's Nick Friedell.
Golden State selected Curry with the seventh overall pick in 2009. The two-time MVP has spent all 17 NBA campaigns in the Bay Area, leading the Warriors to four titles, including three in four years. He was the Finals MVP during the team's most recent championship run in 2022.
Curry is the franchise's all-time leader in games played, points, threes, assists, steals, and free-throw percentage.
The 38-year-old had a productive 2025-26 campaign, averaging 26.6 points, 4.7 assists, 3.6 boards, and 1.1 steals. However, he appeared in only 43 games, the fewest since he played just five in 2019-20.
Golden State finished 37-45 last season and was eliminated by the Phoenix Suns in the play-in tournament.
