Patrick Dumont and his wife, Sivan, are now the controlling owners of the Dallas Mavericks after purchasing Miriam Adelson's share of the franchise in October, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon.

The Dumont family now owns 69% of the NBA club.

Adelson is Sivan Dumont's mother. Adelson had minimal involvement with the Mavs during her tenure as the controlling owner.

"It's really about long-term investment in the city of Dallas," Patrick Dumont told ESPN's Tim MacMahon. "The Dumont family is really committed to building what we hope is the best arena in the NBA, a really significant investment in the city that will help create the new 40-year home for the Dallas Mavericks, a great experience for our fans and inspire our team to win championships."

Adelson and the Dumonts bought Mark Cuban's majority stake in the Mavs in December 2023.

Patrick replaced Cuban as team governor after the takeover and infamously signed off on the Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade as the club's head decision-maker.

Cuban still owns a 27% share of the Mavs. Under the terms of the 2023 sale, Dumont can purchase an additional 20% share from Cuban at the original $3.5-billion valuation.

"Our plan is to look at that and to do that over time," Dumont said. "I just have to tell you: I love Mark. He's been a great family friend for a really long time. He's just a super passionate Mavs fan and he's frustrated. I respect it.

"We're going to hopefully do him proud. That's my goal - to make all of our Mavs fans super proud about the success of the team and win a championship."
