The Philadelphia 76ers selected forward Johni Broome in the second round of the draft Thursday, taking the former Auburn star 35th overall.

Broome, 22, was a consensus All-American and the 2025 SEC Player of the Year following a stellar fifth year in college.

The 6-foot-9 forward was pivotal in the Tigers' run to the Final Four, averaging 16.8 points, 12 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 1.4 assists, and one block across five March Madness contests. He led Auburn in scoring (18.6 points per game) and rebounds (10.8) throughout the year, helping Bruce Pearl's squad capture the conference's regular-season championship and the overall No. 1 seed for the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

However, Broome began to attract some skepticism at the combine in May when he registered a max vertical leap of 28 inches. That was the second-lowest mark by any participant - only a 27.5-inch leap by Serbian forward Bogoljub Markovic measured lower. Broome's wingspan measured at just over 7 feet with a standing reach of 9 feet, 0.5 inches.

The three-time All-SEC pick joined Auburn ahead of the 2022-23 campaign following two seasons at Morehead State.
