Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis left in the second quarter of Wednesday's 106-101 victory against the Utah Jazz and didn't return due to a right ankle injury.

X-rays on Davis' ankle were negative, and he'll have a re-evaluation after the upcoming All-Star break, head coach Frank Vogel said, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin. Davis, who was diagnosed with an ankle sprain, is expected to miss at least two weeks.

The former No. 1 pick will undergo an MRI on Thursday.

Davis landed on Jazz center Rudy Gobert's foot after jumping to catch a lob.

The eight-time All-Star remained on the court for several moments and needed to be helped to the locker room. He finished with 17 points, two boards, two assists, two blocks, and one steal in 17 minutes of play.

"Obviously, it's sickening to see AD go down in that fashion. I hope he's fine," LeBron James said after noting Davis left the arena on crutches, according to McMenamin. "Obviously, I mean, I know he's not like, great, but obviously his health is most important for him individually, for our ballclub."

Injuries have plagued Davis over the past two seasons. He is averaging 23.1 points, 9.7 boards, 2.9 assists, 2.3 blocks, and 1.2 steals over just 37 appearances in 2021-22.
