Stephen Curry says it's still up in the air whether he'll defend his NBA All-Star Three-Point Contest title in Cleveland in February.

In an interview with Hanif Abdurraqib of GQ, the Golden State Warriors star said he'll likely decide at the last minute whether to participate in this year's contest or sit it out.

"I'm trying to figure that out, to be honest," Curry said. "I don't have an answer. I usually figure it out on the deadline that they want to announce.

"I won it last year, and my pops always told me, 'You're only as good as your last game, your last competition.' And so I want to go out on a high note. But compared to the DNA that I have, it's really making me anxious a little bit, in terms of I'm going to be there in Cleveland to try to get another trophy. So I honestly don't know."

Curry beat Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley by one point in the 2021 Three-Point Contest to win the competition for a second time. He also took the event in 2015.

The 33-year-old said there are three players he'd be excited to compete against if he does participate this year.

"My brother (Seth Curry) and Klay (Thompson), and Buddy Hield is the other guy. I think he's like right behind me (in 3-pointers this season)," Curry said. "And so anybody who's shooting at a high level like he is, you want to beat the best. So those three guys."
