Help is on the way for the Portland Trail Blazers, as star guard Damian Lillard is targeting a Wednesday return to the lineup versus the Washington Wizards, reports Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic.
Lillard has been out since Feb. 12 with a groin strain, missing five games during that time. He's scheduled to sit out his sixth contest on Monday in Orlando.
The absence of the 29-year-old has been difficult for the Blazers, with the team posting a 1-4 record without him running the offense. The Weber State product has been outstanding when healthy this season, sitting fifth in the league in scoring at 29.5 points per contest.
Portland is currently 3.5 games out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
