Chris Paul has corroborated Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey's assertion that the point guard hasn't asked to be dealt away.

"I never asked for a trade," Paul said Sunday, according to the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen. "I never demanded a trade ... I'll be in Houston. I'm happy about that. I'm very happy about that."

The statement may help quell rumors of discord between Paul and teammate James Harden after their relationship was recently reported to be "unsalvageable."

But while Paul denies demanding a trade, other reports have suggested the Rockets are shopping the 34-year-old and recently had an offer rebuffed by the New York Knicks.

The future Hall of Famer's contract could prove difficult to move in any case. He's owed $124 million over the next three seasons, including a player option in the final year. Paul's production is also beginning to slow somewhat; he posted career lows in scoring (15.6 points per game) and PER (19.7) this past season.
