Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson is questionable for Game 3 of the NBA Finals after an MRI on Monday confirmed a mild hamstring strain, the team announced.

The All-Star guard left Game 2 with hamstring tightness after landing awkwardly following a 3-point attempt in the fourth quarter. Thompson still finished with a team-high 25 points, along with five boards and five assists in 32 minutes as Golden State hung on for a 109-104 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

Thompson was hopeful postgame that he wouldn't miss any action, and he has some time to rest before Wednesday's clash at Oracle Arena. The Warriors are optimistic that the swingman will play despite the injury, a league source told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 29-year-old is averaging 19.5 points on 44 percent shooting from the floor across 18 postseason appearances.

Golden State is already without star forward Kevin Durant (calf), while center Kevon Looney (costal cartilage) was recently ruled out indefinitely.
