The Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers are among multiple contenders expected to express interest in free-agent center Andrew Bogut, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The 34-year-old spent the 2018-19 season with the Sydney Kings of Australia's National Basketball League after 13 campaigns in the NBA. Bogut averaged 11.4 points, 11.6 boards, and 2.7 blocks per contest en route to being named league MVP and Defensive Player of the Year.
Bogut's return home was initially thought to signal the end of his NBA career. At his introductory press conference with the Kings, the Aussie told reporters there aren't any outs in his deal if an NBA team comes calling.
"Before anyone asks, no NBA outs, no European outs," Bogut said in April 2018, according to the Associated Press. "I'm committed to being here for two years ... it will retire me from the NBA, I'm happy to say that today."
Bogut was a member of the Warriors' 2014-15 championship squad. The 2005 first overall pick last played in the NBA during the 2017-18 season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
