Ex-NBAer Rasual Butler had drugs, alcohol in system during fatal crash

Former NBA player Rasual Butler had drugs and alcohol in his system at the time of the car accident that killed him and wife Leah LaBelle, according to an autopsy report obtained by the Indy Star's Dakota Crawford.

Butler and LaBelle died Jan. 31 when their Range Rover went off the road and crashed in Los Angeles.

Butler, 38, had alcohol, marijuana, methamphetamine, and oxycodone in his system at the time of death, the Los Angeles County coroner's office stated. There was also an empty tequila box found in the back seat of the Range Rover, according to the report.

Butler was selected by the Miami Heat in the second round of the 2002 draft out of La Salle. He played 14 seasons in the NBA with Miami, New Orleans, the Clippers, the Bulls, the Raptors, the Pacers, the Wizards, and the Spurs. LaBelle was a singer who was once an "American Idol" contestant.
