Suns' Dudley: Warriors self-coaching was disrespectful, but 'we don't deserve respect'

The Phoenix Suns weren't thrilled that the Golden State Warriors coaching staff handed play-calling duties over to their players on Monday night.

But, as one of the Suns' few old heads pointed out, losing to those player-coached Warriors by 46 points, five days after losing to the San Antonio Spurs by 48, won't convince the rest of the league to pay them much deference.

"It shows a lack of respect for an opponent, and maybe right now, we don’t deserve respect," Suns forward Jared Dudley told ESPN's Chris Haynes after the game. "When you keep getting beat by 40, teams won’t respect you. But it's up to us to change that."

The loss was the Suns' sixth straight and their 14th in their last 16 games. They now rank 29th in the NBA in offense and 30th in defense. They've shown few signs of reversing the skid anytime soon, especially with the Utah Jazz - winners of 10 straight games - up next on the schedule.
