Melo: I'm probably in 'roughest' offensive stretch of my career

Carmelo Anthony can't buy a bucket.

The Oklahoma City Thunder forward admitted he's going through what might be the worst shooting slump of his 15-year career.

"I think these past three, four games, offensively, has been the toughest stretch for me as far as scoring the basketball, making shots," he said following Thursday's 100-95 loss to the Brooklyn Nets in Mexico City.

"This is a rough stretch for myself personally, probably the roughest that I've had throughout my career."

Anthony, 33, shot an abysmal 5-of-20 from the field, 0-of-4 from deep, and 1-of-4 from the free-throw line, finishing with 11 points in the defeat.

It was expected the once-prolific scorer would see a dip in production after joining two other ball-dominant All-Stars in Russell Westbrook and Paul George via an offseason trade to Oklahoma City. What wasn't expected, however, is how much he'd struggle off the bat.

It's still early, though, and Melo said he won't let the missed shots and general inefficiency discourage him. The 2013 scoring champion plans to keep taking the shots he normally takes, and expects them to eventually start falling again.

Anthony's averaging 18.1 points and 1.7 assists in 32.6 minutes per game - all career lows - for the Thunder, who sit 11-13 and are currently out of a playoff spot.
