The Washington Wizards aren't parting with No. 1.

Washington isn't discussing trades involving the first overall pick in the draft and is expected to make the selection at the start of Tuesday's first round, a source told Andscape's Marc J. Spears.

The Wizards, who won the draft lottery after finishing last in the Eastern Conference, are widely believed to be choosing between AJ Dybantsa, Cameron Boozer, and Darryn Peterson. The Kansas product didn't participate in workouts with any teams besides Washington but apparently wouldn't be opposed to landing elsewhere.

"Definitely not dodging any team," Peterson told Michael Scotto of HoopsHype on Monday. "Whoever takes me, I'm gonna come in and be delighted to be there. Wherever that happens to be, they'll get the best of me. But I'm not dodging any team. I'll play for whoever."

Washington's top rookie is likely to feature heavily alongside Trae Young for the foreseeable future. On Monday, the star guard reportedly agreed to a new four-year, $212-million contract with the franchise after recently turning down a $49-million player option for next season.

The Wizards are also awaiting Anthony Davis' team debut after trading for him in February. Davis, 33, didn't play for Washington last season due to hand and groin injuries. He's eligible for an extension but could become a free agent in 2027 if the two sides fail to reach an agreement.
