Klay Thompson inviting lucky toaster-wielding fan to parade
Back in March, a fan showed up to an autograph signing with a special request for Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson: please sign my toaster.
Golden State proceeded to lose just one game for the rest of the regular season, then swept their way through three rounds of the playoffs. They were on track to sweep the Cavaliers too, before dropping Game 4 in Cleveland.
Asked whether his promise to buy the entire team toasters was still in effect, Thompson stuck a fork in the quandary.
"I'll invite the fan, but we were supposed to go 16-0 for everyone to get toasters," Thompson told the media in the postgame press conference.
"I got a toaster at home," Draymond Green chipped in. "I don't want one. I'm good."
There are few certainties in life, but at least you can bank on these two things: Klay Thompson is a man of his word, and all toasters toast toast.
