Fan stretchered out of Comerica Park after foul ball to face

Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

A fan was stretchered out of the stands during a game at Comerica Park between the Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers on Friday after being hit in the face by a foul ball.

The game was stopped in the eighth inning after outfielder Anthony Gose hit a foul ball that struck a woman behind the Tigers dugout, leaving an oversized bump.

Paramedics immediately responded to the woman, who sat up and looked responsive before she was carried out of the stands.

A team's spokesperson said after the game that the fan was taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital for further evaluation.
