The Minnesota Twins are calling up outfield prospect Walker Jenkins to make his MLB debut against the Chicago White Sox on Friday, according to Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com.
Jenkins, who was taken with the fifth pick in the 2023 draft, is the top prospect in the Twins' minor-league system and 15th overall in baseball, per MLB Pipeline.
The 21-year-old has recorded 14 homers, 31 RBIs, and 17 stolen bases with a .976 OPS over 73 games between three minor-league levels this season. He's spent the majority of the time in Triple-A.
Jenkins will reportedly join Minnesota as the club looks to make a playoff push down the stretch. The Twins enter Thursday's action 6.5 games behind the White Sox for the AL Central lead and four games out of the final wild-card spot.
