The New York Yankees are trading right-hander Camilo Doval to the Pittsburgh Pirates for two prospects, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.
New York receives catcher Omar Alfonzo and outfielder Luis Cruz in the deal, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.
The Pirates will assume $750,000 of the roughly $2 million left on Doval's salary for this season. according to the New York Post's Joel Sherman. The 29-year-old is also under team control for 2027, when he becomes arbitration-eligible.
Doval owns a 4.54 ERA and 8.8 K/9 over 39 2/3 innings this season. The Yankees acquired him from the San Francisco Giants at last year's deadline in exchange for four players. The Dominican hurler posted a 4.63 ERA, 9.4 K/9, and 4.5 BB/9 in 66 appearances across his season-and-a-half in New York.
Doval, who's notched 109 career saves, could help fortify the back end of the Pirates' bullpen as the team pushes for a playoff spot.
Pittsburgh's relievers have not performed well this season, ranking 17th in FIP (4.23), 23rd in ERA (4.38), and 26th in both BB/9 (4.44) and saves (21).
Alfonzo is the better of the two players heading to the Yankees. The 22-year-old backstop was the Pirates' No. 17-ranked prospect. He owned a .238/.337/.419 slash line in the minors this season.
Meanwhile, the 18-year-old Cruz has hit .313/.460/.396 with seven RBIs in the Dominican Summer League. He was not ranked among the Pirates' top 30 prospects.
