The New York Mets aren't taking any chances with Freddy Peralta ahead of the trade deadline.
The team scratched the right-hander from his start Friday as he continues to draw interest from contenders, reports Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
Kodai Senga will start for the Miami Marlins in place of Peralta, according to ESPN's Jorge Castillo.
Peralta was scheduled to make one final start prior to Monday's deadline after lasting just four innings in his most recent outing against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.
The 30-year-old's name has been front and center in trade rumors during his down year in Queens, where he's authored a 4.99 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 22 starts.
The Mets acquired the pending free agent from the Milwaukee Brewers in January to help lead their rotation. New York's season hasn't gone according to plan, though, with the club expecting to trade a number of its players as it sits last in the NL East.
