The Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to a five-year contract extension with right-hander reliever Justin Martinez, the team announced Saturday.

Martinez's deal is worth $18 million, according to The Arizona Republic's Nick Piecoro.

The deal covers Martinez's remaining arbitration-eligible years and includes two club options valued at $7 million in 2030 and $9 million in 2031, a source told Piecoro. It also includes a $3-million conditional club option for 2032, Piecoro added.

Martinez's deal could be as high as seven years and worth $39 million with options and escalators, a source told KPRC 2 Houston's Ari Alexander.

Martinez had a breakout campaign in 2024 where he authored a 2.48 ERA and 11.3 K/9 with eight saves in 72 2/3 innings.

The 23-year-old averaged 100.5 mph on his four-seam fastball and 100.2 mph on his sinker last season. He also generated a 54.0 Whiff% and 36.5 PutAway% with his splitter.
