New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom believes that winning a Cy Young Award during this year's shortened 60-game season would feel different.

"Twelve starts instead of 32. That's less than half," the reigning two-time NL Cy Young winner said Monday, according to Tim Britton of The Athletic.

However, the right-hander acknowledged that earning the award for a third straight season is something that is on his mind.

"I don't think it would feel the same. But it's definitely still a goal," deGrom said, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

The three-time All-Star could become only the third pitcher in MLB history to win three straight Cy Youngs. Hall of Famers Randy Johnson and Greg Maddux are the only two hurlers to accomplish the feat, and they both earned four consecutive awards.
